I'm starting to notice rattling with my 98s woofer. GREAT bass in this car and I don't even have Nak upgrade. It sounds more like something in a car vs. Woofer, but I was curious if anyone else heard one from their car from time to time. I hope it's my golf clubs but I doubt it! I listen to a lot of bassy music and never, ever have it all way up; strong enough at half! I could be something else vibrating. Maybe remove golf clubs, mother-in-law, etc. From trunk and all the junk from inside the car and see if the rattle is still there. I had nasty buzzing in my previous LS and looked all over trying to find it-it was loose setting in the ring I was wearing! If it's Subwoofer rattling, I think I remember a thread on this forum or ClubLexus about someone eliminating Subwoofer rattle with strategically placed superglue. There is zero rattling from the Nakamichi Subwoofer in my 00 LS although I can sometimes feel base through the seats and steering wheel. I use glue gun approach by flowing glue all around the outside of my 2003 LS430 Subwoofer along joint of foam and outside wall, also flowing glue inside foam all the way to the edge of the fabric core. This totally eliminated Speaker scratching and rattle. Sounds new. Thanks for the advice I receive through forum. This saves me several hundred {matheq}{endmatheq} and a aggravation. The rear deck grill can be pried up easily. Cheers, TonyW I replaced my Subwoofer with a Polk DB840DVC 8 inch Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer available on amazon. Com for about 60. This speaker fits in perfectly as a replacement for the OEM Speaker in my 2003 Lexus LS430. It has much more base response than factory Speaker. The factory Speaker had a light weight magnet and was basically a cheap speaker. I was surprised by how cheap the factory Speaker seem. Polk was heavy and much higher quality and it sounded like it. I think you would definitely be getting ripped off if you pay dealer 300 for a factory replacement Speaker that suck. Don't fix that old piece of junk, replace it. Replacing Speaker wasn't easy job. I had to take out the entire back seat, unbolt seat belts, disconnect a couple of electronic connectors going to the rear seat, and unbolt and lift up center of the rear deck. My arms get scratched up working under the rear deck when unbolting the Speaker and removing it. I recommend wearing a long sleve shirt. There are two Speaker coils with two sets of connections, unlike the original Speaker that had one set. You have to read Polk instructions to determine how to wire Speaker for your car.
