This article is about Seven Ghostly beings. For chapter, see Seven Ghosts and for articles about the series, see 07-Ghost. The Titular Seven Ghosts: namely Zehel, Fest, Profe, Relikt, Vertrag, Ea and Landkarte, are said to be heavenly lights created by the Chief of Heaven, each with their own unique virtue, that were sent from Heaven to dispatch God of Death, Verloren, for his actions. Despite Verloren's fall about 1000 years ago, souls of the Seven Ghosts continue to be reincarnate in human bodies, unable to return to Heaven, to guard earth should Verloren return. Each Ghost can be reincarnate by members of its respective God Houses, but not even members of the God Houses themselves know this is possible. Now that Relikt, Profe, Fest and Vertrag have become ordinary humans, Ea and Landkarte have ascended to Heaven, and Zehel has become Verloren's successor, there are no more reincarnations of the Seven Ghosts.

Abridged Series: 07-Ghost abridge. You can check it out on this Abridged Series Wiki link and on this Youtube link. Also, here. Alien Lunch: Church has some interesting foodstuffs, most prominently eyefish. And we mustn't forget delicious-looking winkhobs. ALL Girls Want Bad Boys: Possibly one of the reasons why Frau and Ayanami are very popular with the series's predominantly female fanbase. Some fans also felt that Mikage was sexier when he was being controlled by Ayanami. Alpha Bitch: Shuuri Oak. Ambiguous Gender: Kuroyuri says It's Secret < 3 When his / her gender is questioned in omake in manga. Amnesiac Dissonance: Teito recovers memories of Ayanami killing Father in the first chapter. Amulet of Concentrated Awesome: Eyes of Michael and Raphael. Anachronism Stew: For example, we have German-like soldier Hyuuga going around with KATANA, iconic of the Muromachi Period of Japan. Then again, this series does take place in fantasy World Anime Catholicism Art Evolution: Compare manga Art from 1 volume to manga Art of 9 volume here arrange Marriage: common practice between Royalty and nobility in Series. The marriage between Teito's father and stepmother is just one example. Badass Adorable: Teito, with his short stature and Tsundere attitude. Labradors also count. Badass Army Bad Habits: When Barsburg military people infiltrate a Church. Beleaguer Assistant: Konatsu, to Hyuuga's Mean Boss Beware Nice Ones: Castor can be as nice as can be, that is unless, he finds out that Frau has been secretly stashing porn magazines around Church, and if anyone comes and threatens anyone in Church. Teito is also attributed to this. As much as he can be a bit cold to others, he really cares for them, and he will really go into berserker rage if you hurt any of his friends. Little Teito is never happy if you get in his way, either. Let's not forget about Labradors either. He may be the kindest person in the Series, however though he doesn't fight much, when he does he can be extremely dangerous. I Mean, killing someone using a Man-Eating venus flytrap with a big smile on his face, befriending a very dangerous plant and murdering a bunch of Soldiers with it and tearing off more than half of Ayanami's body is pretty extreme; especially for this little Guy. Big Eater: Mikage's obsession with yakisoba. Bishie Sparkle: Hakuren, Shuuri and Lance. Bishounen: Everywhere You Look. Black Cloak: default clothing of Verloren and Seven Ghosts. Understandable, since they're Death gods. Blank White Eyes: used very often in humorous scenes, especially on Frau. Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: three sisters from Anime, kinda. Blood Brothers: Mikage and Teito. They even make pact early on in the series. Blood-Splattered Innocents: Pretty much Teito's backstory, fall of Raggs Kingdom. Body Snatcher, of People Puppets variety: Ayanami. Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Most of the Bishops in the main Cast.
Happy Friday! Today were reviewing 07-Ghost manga series that has recently been published in English. 07-Ghost takes place in a world previously governed by two opposing kingdoms, Barsburg Kingdom and the Kingdom of Raags back by the Eye of Rafael and the Eye of Mikhail respectively. In present day, Kingdom of Raags has been defeated and destroyed by the protagonist, Teito Klein, who possesses the Eye of Mikhail. The world is divided into 7 districts. Growing up as an orphan and former slave in District 1, when he discovers that his father was the previous King of Raags, he flees to District 7 or what is known as the District of God, to seek sanctuary. According to legend, over one thousand years ago old death Verloren, committed a heinous crime in heaven and fled to earth. Once here, he invades people's hearts and terrorizes them. Grieving over events on earth, overseer of heaven send Seven rays of light to punish evil Verloren. They were known as Seven hosts and are said to have sealed evil Verloren away. BEWARE SPOILERS BELOW The first opening arc of the series focuses on Teitos resurfacing memories of his father and of Raags, his escape from District 1 to the sanctuary in church, and his training in order to take the Bishop's examination and return to the District without inspection. At the same time, events are building and people are brooding behind the scenes. I like the way Yuki Amemiya and Yukino Ichihara handle the story in that there is a fair balance between developments of both District 1 and District 7, giving-lets say, Gods Eye view-to workings of the Kingdom. The first arc prepares Teito with skills to face his future trials, almost like a training montage. The story is generally categorized into action and supernatural, while the art is fantasy orient. The bishops are rather well drawn and I could see shojo fans being attracted to story for art. The style of stroke and brush isnt as harsh as hardcore shonen manga such as OnePiece or Shamen King, so I am entirely sure how to classify this manga, so I am going to leave it in open for everyone. Personally, I would say this manga would be great for all ages; however, younger viewers may not understand the tension between state and church as well as the religious undertones of some of the script. The layout of pages flow nicely and there is a healthy relationship of image to text, probably because the series was product of partnership. Characters, though comedic at times, possess startling complex personalities and pasts. Due to the clarity and style of the illustrator, faces are easy to distinguish from one another.
There have been two side chapters that were released as early idea of the storyline and would later serve as blueprints for the story. The earliest one is named Seven Ghosts, which appears to be the prototype of the first chapter as well as being the source where the personalities of three Bishops; Castor, Frau, and Labrador, and Teito, were derived from, as well as several incidents which would later become canon eg Teito being slave. Several of features in the pilot chapter were removed altogether: Professor Lloyd's appearance in Church, or changed slightly: Teito's brand on his forehead was later replaced with handcuffs, designs for senior Military uniforms were also change, and several incidents would later be added to the story. The second prototype side chapter is named Begleiter and revolves around two major antagonists of the series: Ayanami and Hyuuga. The chapter also introduces characters Yukinami and Suzunami, twin brothers who appear as students at Military academy-former being Ayanami's Begleiter, and also introduces Ayanami's decease previous Begleiter, Yukikaze. In finished series, idea of Yukinami and Suzunami's role as students is dropped entirely, but they make appearance later in the manga as combat slaves from Antwort. Yukikaze's connection with Ayanami remains the same, though his appearance changes.
Their true appearance is in the form of a hooded skeleton, each of them wielding a large scythe. Their appearance is same as Verloren's since they are made up of Verloren's fragments. The only way ghosts are distinguishable from each other are differing shapes of their scythes. They inhabit the body of their human host, and it is in this human body how they are normally see. They are indistinguishable from regular humans save for the insignia of their respective Ghost on the back of their right hand. Particularly skilled people can detect Ghost from their presence, but it is implied one only has this ability once one has come into contact with a Ghost. Since only blood descendants of the Seven Houses of God can be reincarnate as Seven Ghosts, vessels / reincarnations of Ghosts tend to resemble each other eg Guido resemble Frau, Raggs War Relikt resemble Lance etc.
