The adenoids are lymph nodes located in the back of the throat behind the nose. Lymph nodes comprise part of the lymphatic system, which aids the immune system to battle infection. Airborne germs getting in the body by means of the nose are filteringed system and trapped by hairs and mucous in the nose and after that most are destroyed by antibodies and white cells made by the adenoids.
