Alex is an identical twin-sister of Spencer, and therefore, looks exactly like her. Alex has a very slim face compliment with high cheekbones, thin lips, and almond-shaped eyes. She has a peach and cream complexion and long medium brown hair usually worn down in waves. She also has bangs to mimic her sister's, which she keeps throughout the five-year jump and into the one-year jump. While impersonating Spencer, Alex was dressed very similarly to her sister, but normally one article of clothing was off, whether it be accessories or shoes. However, when she was dressed as herself in flashbacks, she wore heavy makeup and dark clothing that had combination of tomboy and classy. She also had her hair in braids or pulled to the side, something that is opposite of her twin.

Unlike Mona and Charlotte, Alex had actual motivation to become an AD and to torment Liars. Charlotte was upset that she heard girls were glad Alison was going and then got addicted to the game, while Mona claimed that girls take Hanna away from her. Alex wasnt addicted to playing game; she eventually grew obsessed with taking over Spencers ' life, but that wasnt her original goal. Alex wants to get justice for Charlotte and find her murderer, and even though she may have been almost everyone least favorite villain of the series, you have to admit that at least her motive for becoming a villain actually makes sense. With Professor on Perfectionists, his experiment reminded me a bit of the combination of Charlotte dollhouse and Alex board game. Both were meant to test what girls were capable of and show them at what point they would snap, but Charlotte dollhouse didnt have real consequences. Alex board game forces them out into the real world to confront their fears and demons head on, and I see the experiment being even deadlier than that. Phase 2 is going to put all of their lives in danger, as we can already tell, and if they disobey, theyll lose a lot more than just a few years of their lives in jail.

During the opening scenes of the first episode, Drake, while driving her daughter Molly to school, is unexpectedly called to hostage situation near the embankment of the River Thames. Upon arriving, she is informed that the hostage taker, Arthur Layton, is demanding to speak to her, despite Drake having no knowledge of him. Drake eventually negotiates the release of civilian hostage in favour of herself. This prompted Molly to rush past the cordon into the middle of the situation. Layton takes hold of Molly and rushes down steps to the river's edge, followed by Drake shortly after to find her daughter unharmed with Layton missing. Upon returning to her car, she failed to notice Layton in back, who forced her at gunpoint into a disused barge and told her that he knew her parents, who died in 1981, Tim and Caroline Price. Shortly after, Layton shoots Drake in the head. Following the shooting, Drake finds herself in 1981, less than fourteen weeks before the death of her parents, Tim and Caroline Price. Upon waking, she finds herself in the same location-on barge which is host to a party. From studying Sam Tyler's notes, Drake is familiar with Gene Hunt, Ray Carling and Chris Skelton, and is surprised that they actually exist. As well as this, Drake used dictaphone to record her experiences and frequently searched for radio communications and television images for information about her, knowing that Sam Tyler receive information this way. During the first series, Drake believes that she has been sent back to 1981 in order to save her parents from death. Along with this, Drake is constantly haunted by hallucinations of Clown. Eventually, it is revealed that her father, Tim, is Clown and that he arranged to blow himself up along with his wife, Caroline, and daughter, Alex, by hiring Arthur Layton to rig car bomb after finding that Caroline was having an affair with Evan White. In the second series, Alex Drake is shown to have become more at ease with his life in the 1980s, and that his relationship with Gene Hunt has improved to the point where they work separately from the rest of the team and conduct unofficial investigations.
