Having just completed its 100 anniversary, Brazils Animation industry is being honoured by the 2018 Annecy International Animation Film Festival. For this reason, Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency will be in the lovely little French town of Annecy from June 11 to 16, helping publicize the country. Agency F / Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi created special activation that will take place during the event, with outdoor and digital media messages, film advertising and 10 mini documentaries that will present industrys trajectory to the public. Here, you can watch firsthand wonderful piece that summarizes 100 years of Brazilian Animation in 100 seconds. Vetor Zeros duo Alton direct and select works of Animation that make up the film: since the movie had to appeal both to Animation experts and to the general public, we decided to include characters from the worlds of advertising and entertainment. The final result therefore features, for example, Little Mouse from children's TV show Castelo Ra-Tim-Bum as well as Cuca from Boy and World, nominated for the 2016 Oscars. The Directors also assert that this project was only possible thanks to the work of several talented illustrators, who recreated some animations that were lost in time. That case with Itsuo Nakashima, invited to animate Piconze, character created by his father, Ype Nakashima, author of one of the first Brazilian color animated feature films. Walbercy Ribas, regarded by some as the father of Brazilian Animation, recreated using gouache paint and frame-by-frame Animation bird that appeared in Rio 2096: Story of Love and Fury, first Brazilian animated feature film to win a Cristal award at Annecy, and also pre-nominate for the 2014 Oscars.

Tropes present in the series:

Former member of the Stradivarius clan and Morgana's cousin. She was exiled from her family by the Universal Council Of Wizards for HER lack of ethic in spell-Casting and HER tendency to steal other wizards' magic instead of perfecting HER own. Living in Sao Paulo, as a fortune-teller, she rope Dr. Abobrinha into helping HER take over the castle by using Morgana's spell book to give herself power, hoping to use it to make HER most powerful sorceress of all during the Planetary Alignment Ritual. Anime Hair: When empower, she sports bright-purple towering hairdo with a single lock drooping in front of HER face. Baleful Polymorph: Turns people into these, which come with the territory of playing the Wicked Witch role. She transforms Victor and Morgana into marionettes, Two Of Nino's friends into mice, and Two Of Castle's non-human residents into carpets. Big Bad: Of movie, seeking to become the most powerful sorceress on Earth. Dread: Even saying HER name causes things to randomly fall over and animals in the vicinity to become agitated. Even Morgana, who doesn't treat HER with any respect whatsoever, certainly dreads HER return. Embarrassing Nickname: lolo, which was HER nickname when she was a member of the clan. Naturally, this is a very sore spot for HER. Evil Counterpart: To Morgana, who devotes HER life to studying magic and its teaching, and is also a caring motherly figure to Nino, who is only stern when she needs to be. Losangela, meanwhile, is an inept, malicious Witch that steals magic and makes it HER own while acting full of herself. Fail Spot Check: Three times, in succession, which is what ultimately defeats HER. Because she never learned of Black Stone that is used to revert spells, she tosses things aside even though Nino left it by book podium she was using for HER Ritual. Nino's false signal that Planetary Alignment is starting could easily be disproved by just looking at the Planetary clock right there in the main hall, but she's too preoccupied with gaining power to check again. Finally, cherry on cake, She can't even tell HER own cousin's handwriting apart from some random stranger having written counter-spell on the page she was reading, so she just read counter-spell out loud without realizing, making HER entire Plan literally go up in smoke. Fatal Flaw: Sloth and Pride. Losangela feels the Stradivarius clan owe HER for being a Witch with great potential for power that was stripped from HER unjustly, but she herself never put in work to actually earn say power, instead preferring to leech off HER family's work and use their spells while claiming ownership of them. This lack of effort on HER part makes HER blind to HER family's other teachings, so she ends up only knowing magic at a superficial level and can't even tell HER cousin's own handwriting apart from stranger's, which is what ultimately does HER in.

Tropes present in the movie:

Adaptational Angst Upgrade: He's constantly desiring to be normal so he can play with other kids outside of the castle, but is unable to because of his family's traditions and stern teachings. Age Lift: Acting-wise, since he's actually played by a child actor here. Brilliant, but Lazy: His biggest flaw is the fact that he certainly has potential to be a great wizard, but he's unfocused and doesn't really want to invest time in becoming a sorcerer, since he's busy his mind with wanting new friends and seeking opportunities to have fun. It's when he manages to find the perfect balance between being himself and caring about his family that he becomes the perfect Foil for Losangela. Heroic BSoD: When Losangela takes over the castle and Nino is forced to run away, leaving Morgana and Victor behind in HER clutches as he takes shelter with his new human friends. He spent a good couple of days with them before finally organizing a plan to fight back. I Just Want To Be Normal: Adding to his loneliness, fact that he's wizard makes him worry he'll scare possible new friends away because it doesn't make him normal like them. Three kids he befriends in the Movie gladly disagree and are more than happy to Be Friends With Someone who uses magic and lives in a castle full of it. Secret Diary: His spelling book, which is where he's meant to write down incantations he needs to practice, discoveries and observations, instead using it for personal notes and drawings. It later becomes instrumental in infiltrating the castle and defeating his crazy aunt. Tarot Motifs: Nino's image is used on Losangela's tarot deck as Hanged Man, Arcana representing self-sacrifice for the sake of enlightenment and overcoming one's bindings. Nino is forced into a dangerous situation by his aunt's takeover of the castle and is forced to put his life in line to save his family and friends from HER, which is also how he finally achieves magical prowess, by relying on his new friends and his own smarts to overpower Losangela. Doing so also proves him to be capable as sorcerer and frees Him of fears holding him back, allowing him to be himself, Stradivarius, while also being friends with normal humans who truly cherish his company. Upright, card also signals that person might need some time to Think Things Through, and after escaping from the castle, he use his time away to organize his counterattack against his aunt. Adaptational Personality Change: While he's not too different, movie makes him even more stern towards Nino when it comes to his teachings, acting colder regarding his nephew's shortcomings and berating him far more often. This eventually results in Nino becoming more defiant of His rules, which allows Dr. Abobrinha to enter the castle.
