NCD # 11, 612February 11, 2011Contact: Anne Sommers202-272-2004 WASHINGTON, On Monday, February 14, National Council on Disability Member Marylyn Howe will sign up with more than 500 supporters at the 2011 Disability Policy Seminar in Washington, DC to present significant searchings for and suggestions from NCD's most recent report relating to the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act and the programs the regulation produced. The report, entitled Rising Expectations: The Developmental Disabilities Act Revisited, is the end result of a research NCD got for in 2009 that researched just how well the programs developed by the DD Act are satisfying the requirements of people with developmental specials needs and their families. The 2011 Disability Policy Seminar is a collaborative effort of the Arc, United Cerebral Palsy, the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, the Association of University Centers on Disabilities, the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities, and Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered.
