DIGIM-II, second Phase Of DIGIM Programme, comprises two projects: CONNECT Level Crossing and Blockchain. CONNECT Level Crossing in recognition of the importance of Level Crossing Safety, and in continuation of the DIGIM I CONNECT Level Crossing Project carried out in partnership with Dassault Systemes, This Project was launched in 2019, with seven participating members: SNCF, Network RAIL, RAI, VIA RAIL Canada, FS Italiane, CARS and Infraestruturas de Portugal. The AIM Of Project is to improve safety and efficiency at Level Crossings. In this Project, Level Crossing will be CONNECT with CARS to alert and warn drivers in relation to Level Crossings status. If no action or insufficient action is taken by the driver, car will take control of the system, slow down car and stop the car safely before the barrier. The project will run in two phases. In the first Phase, in partnership with Dassault Systemes, system will be designed and simulated using 3DXperience simulation software. The consequences of connecting CARS to Level Crossings will then be simulated using the same software. The System will be implemented and Test in the real environment during the second Project Phase.
