Due to lever action design, one can single-handedly operate this Blaster. The Lever-action mechanism is similar to that of Buzz Bee Rapid Fire Tek. Some photos of Blaster show it featuring a green jam door when in reality it is orange. This is because the pre-production model was seen with a green jam door, feature that changed in the final production model. On some models, jammed doors may be loose and may open unintentionally. This can be fixed by wedging a small piece of paper behind the hinge of the door or tightening screws around jam door. SlingFire was the second NERF brand Blaster to feature a lever-action mechanism for priming, first being Multishot Madness Diatron.
The Acceleration trigger can be considered priming mechanism-equivalent of flywheel Blasters. The correct term for action of priming Blaster would be to cock or charge Blaster. However, term prime is technically not erroneous, because in Blasters, action of priming usually generates power required to fire projectile, rather than purely chambering new projectile. Some Blasters' packaging refers to method of priming as cooking as well. Stockade's packaging markets Blaster as Blaster that does not require cocking, as Blaster is semi-automatic. In real firearms, slide-action and pump-action are used synonymously when referring to underhand charging mechanism.
