Reception

Lisa Simpson, this isn't Your Life is fifth episode of Simpsons ' 22 season. It first aired on Fox network in United States on November 14 2010. After finding out that Maggie is upset about missing one of collectible Happy Little Elves, Homer drives family to Texxon station. This led to Homer continually buying gas to try and win rare Baby Must Have toy. Failing, they end up driving through district of town where Marge grew up. While visiting her mom's old house, Lisa discovers Marge was high-achieving,-honor roll student. Shock, Lisa asks Principal Skinner about it, and he confirms that Marge was very intelligent in her infancy, but this has not prevented her from ending up like stereotypical stay-at-home mother. Skinner warns her that she will likely have same future because, despite her potential, Skinner knows by experience that children often have same fate as their parents. Meanwhile, during stunt through poorly drained school playground, Bart get mud all over Nelson. When Nelson goes to punch him, Bart slips and inadvertently kicks Nelson in face, leading other kids to view Bart as new school bully. Lisa discovers Marge's grades plummet after she meets Homer, and so she aims not to get distract. She clears her room of everything that might take her attentions from her goal of long, happy life, including her saxophone. Marge finds out Lisa wants to nothing like her and although Lisa tries to soften her criticism, Marge becomes noticeably cold towards her daughter. Though inept, Homer tries to help cope best way he can with Marge's distance from her. At school, Nelson confronts Bart at tetherball, and takes swing at him. Nelson misses and strike ball, which came around and hit by mistake, knocking him over. Another similar incident occurs in hall, where Nelson walks into locker and gets trapped inside. Lisa finds out about Cloisters Academy, and tries to her parents to let her go. Marge is against it, saying it's too expensive and Principal's comment insults her. After Principal and Marge ostensibly discuss Lisa's record, she believes that she will be offered scholarship there. Taking advice from Marge, tries to stop Nelson from attacking him by making Nelson feel good about himself, and Nelson actually accepts praise, ending their dispute. Lisa discovers that she has not been offered scholarship; she was only accepted due to Marge agreeing to do all of school's laundry. Worse, Marge has become overtire, overworked drudge as result. Lisa tells Marge she does not want to go to Cloisters anymore, saying it too elitist, and it would be honor to be like her mother. However, she turned away to avoid showing Marge guilty look that she had on her face. Homer steals Baby Must Have Texxon store to keep Maggie Happy.
