We all love the film adaptation of Roald Dahl's book Matilda, and it's pretty hard not to adore the protagonist of the story, six-And-ahalf-year-old Matilda. There is one character, however, who isn't quite as lovable: * ahem * evil Miss Trunchbull, played by Pam Ferris. Miss Trunchbull is the tyrannical principal of the elementary school Matilda attends, and she constantly bullies children. In the book, Dahl describes Trunchbull as looking, more like an eccentric and rather bloodthirsty follower of stag-hounds than the headmistress of a nice school for children. The frumpy, red-face principal makes quite a statement From Here severe bun to shoulder pads of her hunter-green blazer. Yikes. You definitely wouldn't want to get on her bad side. Since the film's release in 1996, however, now 68-years-old Ferris looks totally different. While we realize that she was dressed up in costume for the movie, it's still hard to believe it's same woman. In fact, she's played some major roles in few movies since Matilda and she's almost unrecognizable. Since Matilda she's starred as Ma Larkin in Darling Buds of May, as Laura Thyme in Rosemary & Thyme and as Sister Evangelina in Call Midwife. She's also made appearances in Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban, Rave, Pollyana, Children of Men, BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens' Little Dorri and Gavin and Stacey. 7. Lavender - Kiami Davael

The child actor won the hearts of viewers around the world with her sensible attitude and cute glasses. Does everybody remember the Lavenders Wow comment after realising Matildas mad mathematical skills? All grow up. Matilda was Kiami Davaels screen debut, and she went on to appear in a few other productions, including in House and Bruno. ADVERTISEMENT Since then, she has quit acting and instead has gone on to get a degree at the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Art in Psychology. Appearing to still be best of friends. Davael is pictured with Mara Wilson during Matilda's reunion with all cast members in 2013.
