The interview today went well. The folks at Ed Napleton seem very nice, and the IT manager I spoke to was very interested, interested enough to want to tell his HR director that he wanted to talk to me again in the office next week. The job is only part time, 20 to 25 hours a week to start. Not exactly sure what pay is going to be, but hoping they offer me more than what I ask for. I put out seven additional resumes today. One of which was to Adler Planetarium, where I did some volunteer work about 10 years ago. They are looking for a web designer, so I figure it is worth a shot at what I consider to be a dream job. The other 6 were to various web and graphic design postings on career builder. I hope that my search will turn in To some interviews. I am tired of being on the UI and want to get back to doing something interesting with my life. Mind you, I cherish the time Ive had with my kids, but I am supposed to be the bread winner in the house, not Mr. Mom I had the pleasure of staying at home with both of my boys until they were around 5. Due to the economy taking a flop, my trade has taken an enormous hit in my small town here in Florida. My ex had a better job, so IT was Mr Mom all way. These were some of the best days of my life. It makes me envy staying at home with Mom quite a bit. Taking naps together, playing outside, reading to them, and so much more. It was funny because no matter what time I put them to bed, both of them were up at 7: 15 every morning. IT never fail. We live in a rat race world, so time I spent at home with them was beyond precious. There were times that IT do get overwhelming, but with structure, substance, and constant schedule, IT was quite manageable. When my ex, and I separate, she disappeared for 3 months, and I was doing IT all on my own, with zero help. Those were some of my best days ever spent with them. Needless to say, I truly miss IT. I am truly thankful for that time I had with them. Some people are as lucky to have that quality time with their children. Now one is almost 12, and the other will be first grader here soon. It is like you waking up one day, and theyre all grow up. I miss them living with me. Waking up to their bright smiles, making them breakfast, dinner, and all of little things. Its tough being a divorced dad, but I do get that time with them, so I 'll always have that. I look forward to having at least one more child.
