Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is restoring all-natural conditions in and near the Watergate Recreation Site in Hardwick Township, Warren County, New Jersey by eliminating man-made features such as dams and dams and recovering wetlands, Van Campens Brook, and its floodplain. The Watergate Picnic Area is closed to the general public throughout of building, and expected to resume in June 2022. Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area has launched a draft Historic Buildings Strategy for a 30-day public testimonial and comment period. The draft HBS details priorities for the long-lasting management, preservation, and upkeep of historical structures in the park and will direct park management in making choices on financing and preservation initiatives.
