Gray's Reef Southeast Regional MATE ROV Competition provides an excellent possibility for educators and their trainees to engage in scientific research, technology, engineering and math through structure model ROVs that basically run like real ROVs in real life situations undertaken in ocean exploration and research. Our local ROV competitors offers groups the possibility to "strut their things" by contending for the right to represent our region in the Marine Advanced Technology Education International ROV Competition. ROV Competition Evaluations: At each local and international competition students, instructors, coaches and parents are evaluated to identify the efficiency of the ROV building workshops and competitors program. The ROV Building Workshop is hosted by NOAA Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary and Georgia Aquarium in partnership with Marine Advanced Technology Education Center and is carried out in Atlanta at The Georgia Aquarium. Discussed is exactly how ROV technology can be infused into high school educational program that is connected to state and national requirements. A presentation on the innovation of ROVs and just how they are used in research, tracking, and expedition in our nationwide marine havens is provided in addition to a summary of the Marine Advanced Technology Education Center and their regional and nationwide student ROV competitors. Invitational ROV Building Workshops are an alternate choice since many instructors are not comfy teaching ROV building even after taking the workshop offered at the Georgia Aquarium. Savannah Science Seminar ROV Building Workshop is a possibility for pupils to get first hand training in building ROVs. The three-session workshop is offered via Savannah Science Seminar, which is an honors science program for selected juniors in the Savannah-Chatham County School System.
