Robots are machines or automated modern technologies that can carrying out a series of activities to do everything from drive vehicles to perform surgical procedure. Given NIOSH's goal to develop new expertise, the Institute is distinctively placed to assess prospective benefits and risks of robotics in the work environment, conduct work environment interventions to stop robot-related employee injuries, and develop support for risk-free interactions in between humans and robots. To do this, NIOSH produced the Center for Occupational Robotics Research in September 2017. The CORR is encompassed within NIOSH-wide efforts to examine the Future of Work and widen the method to worker health, health and wellness and safety and security.
