John Freeman

If youre comic creator to contribute material to Sector 13, publisher and editor Peter Duncan for his Splank! Digital Special, you have much longer to do it. Already running to stinking 80-plus pages, Peter has set target date of 14 May 2020 to make Splank! Digital Comic available, which gives final, final deadline of 12 for agreed material. Contributors already agree, as we previously report, include Mike Higgs, creator of Cloak, Beano artist Nigel cartoonist Marc Jackson, and myself, John Freeman and ABC Warriors 2000AD artist Smuzz. With comic cons and workshops canceled as result of continuing Coronavirus Pandemic lockdown, many comic creators are losing big proportion of their income. Some are selling digital comics for first time or taking on commissions to try and make up little of shortfall. In order to promote these creators, Peter Duncan, one of brilliant downthetubes contributors and editor of 2000AD-inspire fanzine Sector 13, is reviving his Splank! Comic, free digital download. Intention is for it to be free download, with invitation to make donation to Association of NHS Charities or local equivalent, Peter tells us in progress update. I am going to make available through Sector 13 / Splank! Web-page and anywhere that is prepared to source it. Any suggestions gratefully receive. Material Line Up Is Mainly Comic Strips, But With Couple Of Text Articles And Stories-and Some Really Good Thank You NHS Pin-ups. I am good progress, he add. Splank! Digital looks like itll have more than twice as many pages as original issue. Some really exciting material. There is still little bit of material to get in and some thatll have to be carried forward to second issue. GetMyComics, who distribute The77, ComicScene and will be distributing new Pat Mills anthology Spacewarp, have agreed to carry Splank! Digital on their site, waiving usual charge they make. I approaching other places to it as well, say Peter. If anyone wants advert, or wants material to be include, now is time to get it to Peter. If anyone would like to prove any more material, 'll be delight to at it, he say. Splank! Digital is all-age, title, format to A4 size if possible and Peters is happy to look at strips, articles, illustrate short stories thank you key workers pin-ups. Previously published work will accepted as sample of creators ' work. If you want advert on back of Comic, please send Peter something A5 landscape or A6 portrait and if you would like to add page or two of fake adverts, that would be good too!
