Upadacitinib is used to treat moderate to badly active rheumatoid arthritis, active psoriatic arthritis, and moderate to extreme ulcerative colitis in patients that have taken other medicines that did not work well. It is also used to treat moderate to serious atopic dermatitis in patients that have taken other medications that did not work well and whose problem is not well controlled with other treatments or in patients who can not tolerate these therapies.
