Western blotting is a research laboratory method used to spot a specific protein in a blood or tissue sample. We can do this by taking the material from the example and running it on a gel, and after that transferring the settled proteins onto a special item of membrane, of paper, if you will, and then probe that paper with an antibody to the specific protein of interest. Because the antibody is labeled with a molecule that we can after that imagine, we can ask whether the protein of passion is revealed in this example and have an idea of how abundant it is, along with understanding what dimension the protein is.
